Ataq axis commander describes Islah factions as ‘rebels’ after al-Buqami’s visit

SHABWA, May 11 (YPA) – Commander of the so-called “Ataq axis”, Adel al-Masabi, loyal to Saudi-led coalition, described the Islah factions in the Areen camp in Shabwa as rebels, two days after the visit of the commander of the Saudi “support forces”, Sultan al-Buqami to the camp.

Al-Masabi, a pro-UAE military commander and loyal to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council, called on the Islah factions in the Areen camp in the Arma district to return to the Ataq axis, based on what he called the “amnesty decision” launched by pro-coalition governor of Shabwa, to arrange their situation, following what he described as “rebellion events” last August.

Al-Masabi’s call came two days after al-Buqami, along with the chief of staff of pro-coalition Ministry of Defense, Saghir bin Aziz, visited the camp and chanted “with our soul and blood we redeem you, O Yemen.”

It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia is seeking to rearrange the ranks of the pro-Islah factions in a number of areas amid news that they are attached to the so-called Saudi-backed “Dera Al-Watan” Forces, led by Jahdal Hanash, who was summoned along with other commanders, including Amjad Khaled, last month to Riyadh.
