2 people killed, 8 injured due to armed clashes in Shabwa

SHABWA, May 11 (YPA) – About ten people were killed and injured on Thursday in an armed attack in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The sources confirmed that gunmen believed to belong to UAE factions targeted a car carrying citizens with a hail of fire in Makraba area of Habban district, killing two and injuring eight others.

The sources explained that the militants set up an armed ambush of citizens on Al-Aram road, indicating that the dead and wounded are members of Laqmush tribe.

The sources also indicated that the two dead were “Mehdi Bin Salem Al-Qumaishi and Mohammed Salem Al-Qumaishi,” without disclosing the identity of the attackers.
