ADEN, May 05 (YPA) – Former Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi on Friday accused Saudi Arabia of deactivating the Yemeni constitution and replacing it with the Gulf initiative in 2011.
“The replacement of the constitution with a political consensus for a political solution in 2011 led to the bypassing of the two,” al-Qirbi said in a tweet on his twitter, referring to the constitution and the consensus between the General People’s Congress (GPC) and the Islah party.
Al-Qirbi stressed that the replacement of the constitution “is a contract to resolve the crisis to serve the interests of the local and international parties to the conflict.”
“Getting out of the chaos requires a return to the Yemeni constitution in force as the only legitimate document,” he said, considering it the safest way to complete the path of a political and constitutional solution.
