SANAA, May 03 (YPA) – The Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Eng. Abdulmalik Qasim Al-Thawr, met on Wednesday with IOM vice president, Matt Hopper.
The meeting discussed the conditions of the agricultural sector in Yemen, the possibility of implementing agricultural activities to help farmers and displaced people in a number of targeted areas in the governorates, in addition to implementing activities in the field of water for agricultural purposes in Ibb governorate at a total cost of 565 thousand dollars.
The meeting stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination to support and develop the agricultural sector as one of the vital sectors in providing food security, as well as its importance in providing job opportunities and the majority of families in rural areas rely on it as a source in providing their living needs.
