Sanaa informs UN its readiness to visit Islah-run prisons

SANAA, May 02 (YPA) – Head of the Prisoners Committee of Sanaa, Abdul Qadir Al-Mortada, affirmed on Tuesday its readiness to implement the agreement to visit prisoners inside the Islah Party-held prisons in the city of Marib.

This came during his meeting with the UN envoy to Yemen, “Hans Grundberg,” and his deputy, “Moeen Shrim.”

“The meeting discussed ways to advance the prisoners’ file, especially what was agreed upon recently in Switzerland,” Al-Mortada said on Twitter.

He explained that the committee informed Grundberg on Sanaas full readiness to carry out the visits to Islah Party-run prisons in Marib.

Al-Mortada indicated that Sanaa stressed the importance of these visits as a first step to pave the way for the implementation of the whole agreement signed in March 2022.
