TAIZ, May 01 (YPA) – Dozens of detainees in one of prisons run by the Saudi-led coalition in Taiz province announced their hunger strike, in protest against their detention for years without any trials.
Human rights sources confirmed that the inmates of the Islah Party-run Central Prison denounce the injustice they have been subjected to since the past years, without presenting them to any courts and moving their files.
The sources added that the Islah authorities refused to move the files of prisoners and detainees, to settle the charges against them.
“The central prison administration of the Islah Party is practicing the most heinous human violations against them, after a prisoner committed suicide inside the prison last April,” the sources added.
Observers expected riots and chaos to break out inside the prison against the background of the injustice inflicted on prisoners and detainees, and the violations they being subjected to without any response to their demands.
