Yemen condemns French authorities’ crackdown on protesters

SANAA, March 26 (YPA) – The Ministry of Human Rights in the National Salvation Government in Sanaa, denounced repressive and brutal practices of French authorities against unarmed peaceful demonstrators.

In a statement obtained by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the ministry called on the French authorities to respect human rights, including the right to demonstrate, and respond to the demands of the French people and respecting their will.

The statement further called on international humanitarian bodies to condemn acts of violence committed by the French authorities, which violate international humanitarian principles and conventions and expose the falsity of the French regime and its claims to respect human rights.

It also called for UN pressure to ensure that the exercise of freedoms is allowed in France, by protecting peaceful demonstrators and journalists covering these demonstrations from violence by the security authorities.
