Military arrangements to expel “Maeen Abdul-Malik” from Aden

ADEN, March 15 (YPA) – Southern forces loyal to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional  Council (STC) began on Wednesday arrangements to expel Maeen Abdul-Malik, head of the government loyal to Saudi-led coalition, from Aden, Yemen News Portal reported.

This comes just a day after arrival of Maeen Abdul-Malik in the city.

The Southern Military Authority, Southern Teachers Syndicate and Doctors and Pharmacists Syndicate announced the formation of a preparatory committee for what it described as a “popular uprising” against Maeen Abdul-Malik, who is in Al-Ma’ashiq Palace.

The southern forces not specify the date of the popular uprising, but decided to choose Radfan, which had triggered the revolution against the British occupation, as the place for the start of the uprising.

The announcement coincided with the STC’s media escalation against pro-coalition government and  the Riyadh-formed Presidential Council.

Pro-STC media described the council and the government as corrupt, noting that patience with them has run out.

It is not yet known whether the STC’s move was part of a political maneuver or an effort to ease the escalating tension against pro-coalition government and head of the Riyadh-formed Presidential Council.
