Pro-UAE military commander survives assassination in Dhalea

DHALEA, March 14 (YPA) – A military commander in the ranks of the UAE-backed militias survived an assassination attempt this afternoon, Tuesday, in Dhalea province, central Yemen.

Local sources reported that an explosive device was planted in a military armored vehicle that was carrying Colonel Omar Muthanna Al-Harbi Al-Radfani, staff commander of the First Battalion of “the 7th Brigade for Support”.

The explosive device exploded while Colonel al-Harbi and his escort were disembarking from the armored vehicle, which resulted in the injury of his escort, Samed al-Yafei, with shrapnel in separate parts of his body, while al-Harbi was unharmed, according to the sources.

This comes amid reports of tension between the military units loyal to the UAE from the areas of Radfan, Yafea, and Dhalea, against the backdrop of the events taking place in Lahj province, southern Yemen.
