Chilean activist organizes exhibition to show solidarity with Yemeni women

WORLD, March 10 (YPA) -In conjunction with International Women’s Day, Chilean activist Connie De Witt continues her solidarity with the people of Yemen.

On Wednesday, she organized a photo exhibition in the vertebral columns (the Alameda) of the Chilean capital, Santiago, to expose the heinous crimes committed by Saudi-led coalition forces against Yemeni oppressed people.

Connie condemned the hypocrisy of the world celebrating International Women’s Day.

“While the hypocritical world celebrates International Women’s Day, Yemeni women are being held behind bars by the Saudi-led coalition regime through no fault of their own, just because they are Yemenis,” she said.

She added, “for Yemeni women, living in a war-zone with enemy artillery bombardment is a common part of daily life.”

“Yemeni Women lack money to feed their families due to lack of work. Also, their salaries have not been paid, and they live with almost no money to support their children,” she explained.

Despite the catastrophic and horrific conditions that Yemeni women are living in as a result of the aggression and blockade, they still play a strong role in the national struggle and society.
