Saudi military commanders send fiery messages before Al-Alimi’s return to Aden

ADEN, March 05 (YPA) – Saudi Forces Command on Saturday sent fiery messages to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council Militia, before the return of the head of the Riyadh-formed Presidential Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, to Aden, next Monday.

Military sources loyal to the Saudi-led coalition explained the Commander of Support Forces in the Joint Forces of the Coalition, Sultan Al-Buqami, along with commander of the Saudi forces in Aden, Theeb Al-Shahrani, paid a visit to the headquarters of “Dara Al-Watan Forces”, recently established by Riyadh from extremist Salafi groups in the Shaab area in the city of Aden.

The visit seen as a direct threat to the leaders of UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) and the so-called “Southern Resistance” after they vowed to prevent Al-Alimi from returning to Aden, and its deployment in the vicinity of the airport, and his residence in Al-Ma’ashiq Palace.

The sources indicated that the visit of Al-Buqami to Aden after his visit to the city of Mocha, confirms the extent of coordination between the forces of “Tariq Affash” and Dara Al-Wattan Forces, following the deployment of the latter and imposing their control on the coastal road from Ras Al-Ara and Al-Madhareba districts, west of Lahj Governorate to al-Buraiqa district of Aden province, during the past two weeks.

The sources considered Al-Buqami’s review of the combat readiness of the forces as a message of war on the forces of the STC.

The Saudi leader was briefed on the map of the upcoming deployment of those forces, the sources added.

Meanwhile, Political analyst Abbas al-Dhalei said in a post on Twitter that the visit of Saudi leaders to the southern provinces aims to neutralize the STC and transfer the powers of the STC to the Dara Al-Wattan forces, which belong to the extremist Salafi group.

“Most of the leaders of Dara Al-Wattan were former leaders of al-Qaeda,” he added.

“The timing of the visit of the Saudi leader to the camps in Aden, is a message addressed exclusively to Gold Moor”, in reference to the STC,” The political analyst, Salah al-Saqladi said in a tweet.

Observers in the southern affairs believe that Saudi Arabia is moving to hand over the joints of the city of Aden to the forces of Dara Al-Wattan and pull out the domination of the STC, as an indicator of changing Saudi policies in the southern governorates.
