Violent confrontations erupted in Shabwa

SHABWA, Feb. 28 (YPA) – Violent confrontations broke out on Tuesday, among tribes in in the oil-rich Shabwa province, eastern Yemen.

Local sources familiar with the matter said the clashes erupted between the tribes of al-Abadlah Al Dayan and Al Abdullah tribes in Markah district, west of the city of Ataq, the provincial capital of Shabwa, using various types of weapons.

The sources attributed the confrontations to the tribal feuds fueled by the pro-coalition leaders in the province, without revealing the casualties of the confrontations.

The local authorities of the coalition did not move to stop the bloodshed among the tribesmen, in order to preserve the survival of their interests to plunder oil wealth without achieving any real development in the various fields of education and health.

This came after the coalition leaders distributed large quantities of weapons to tribal sheikhs during the past year 2022, under the pretext of confronting the forces affiliated with the Sanaa government.
