ADEN, Feb. 19 (YPA) – Security forces affiliated with the Saudi-led coalition arrested on Saturday a number of merchants in the city of Aden, southern Yemen.
Local sources reported that security groups affiliated with the head of Saudi-formed Presidential Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, raided a meeting of merchants in Dar Saad district, and arrested a number of them.
The sources indicated that the arrest came against the backdrop of struggles to rob Al-Karaa popular market in the center of the district.
Targeting merchants coincided with the disruption of the commercial movement in the city of Aden, after the coalition-backed government raised the price of customs duties for the second time, and merchants and importers began transporting their goods from the port of Aden to the port of Hodeida.
