SANAA, Feb. 16 (YPA) – Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi, called for activating the role of cooperative societies and their mechanisms in agricultural development.
This came during his meeting with his chairmanship on Thursday of the second consultative meeting of cooperative societies, which was organized by the local authority in Dhamar, in partnership with Higher Agricultural and Fisheries Committee and Bunyan Development Foundation.
Al-Houthi also called for enhancing awareness and guidance among farmers, especially attention to crop quality and non-use of pesticides that have an adverse effect on the environment, health and agricultural production.
He pointed out the need to pay attention to create dams, water barriers and caravans to provide water and replenish groundwater, indicating that farms are an important and active element in development, considering agriculture as the basis for industrial development.
