PetroMasila accuses al-Amaliqa forces of stealing oil in Shabwa

SHABWA, Feb. 16 (YPA) – State-owned PetroMasila company has accused the so-called al-Amaliqa forces, backed by UAE, of stealing oil fields of Jannat Hunt, Sector 5, in Shabwa province.

Intelligence documents, obtained by Al-Masirah TV by the military intelligence, included reports of Shabwa operations to the leadership of the aggression coalition about the growing theft of oil wells in the sector five.

The documents revealed that the company issued an internal report documented with pictures of the theft of crude oil wells in the fields of sector under the protection of the Fifth, Eighth and Eleventh al-Amaliqa Brigade.

The report indicated that the protection of the oil wells had not been last long since al-Amaliqa took over the tasks of protecting the sector until the attacks on the oil wells resumed, pointing to the escalation of crude oil thefts in January 2023, with the al-Amaliqa’s forces taking over the protection of the entire Sector 5 in December 2022.

Military intelligence sources indicated that the oil looters in the coalition-held territories are pushing towards the small refinery project, despite it being economically unfeasible and opening a new door for oil theft.
