Recruit close to head of STC injured in Hadramout shooting

HADRAMOUT, Feb. 09 (YPA) – A recruit close to the head of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s breach was injured on Thursday in a shooting at Hadramout province.

Sources familiar with the matter said that unidentified gunmen opened fire at the recruit, Salem Awad al-Bahsani, while he was passing through a street in Mukalla city.

The sources added that the gunmen tried to snatch the personal weapon of Al-Bohsani and shot him while he was resisting the attackers, who fled to an unknown destination.

Al-Bohsani was transferred to a hospital in the city for treatment.

The attack on Al-Bahsani left widespread discontent in the city of Mukalla due to the security chaos in the province since the STC militias sent armed groups from Dhalea and Lahj to the Mukalla city’s camps during the past three months.
