ADEN, Feb. 08 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), deployed its militants on Wednesday evening in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition.
Aden governor in the national salvation government in Sanaa, Tariq Salam, confirmed that the STC militia deployed intensively around Aden airport and the areas of Khor Maksar.
Salam explained that the deployments coincides with the arrival of vanguards of extremist Salafist groups funded by Saudi Arabia, which established it under the so-called “Dera Al-Watan forces” (Shield of the Homeland).
He pointed out that Saudi Arabia demanded the STC to hand over Aden airport, evacuate Al-Nassr and Al-Sulaban camps in Khor Maksar district, and withdraw its militia members from military facilities, but the demands were rejected.
