Al-Qaeda mourns its senior leader killed in Marib

MARIB, Feb. 06 (YPA)- Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula – Marib Province- mourned on Monday one of its most prominent military leaders, who was killed in an unknown air strike in the city of Marib, eastern Yemen.

Al-Qaeda spokesman “Malahim” website said in a statement that the leader, Mishaal Al-Osaimi, nicknamed “Abu Al-Khair Al-Najdi”, a Saudi national, was killed in an American drone strike in the city of Marib.

On November 30, 2022, the Saudi leader “Abu Al-Khair Al-Najdi” was killed in a US drone strike targeting the house of one of leaders of the Islah Party, “Hamoud Al-Dawil” in “Al-Hadba Market” area of Al-Wadi district, east of the city.

The US drones launched many air raids targeting dozens of leaders of the terrorist organization in Marib, the last of which was on January 30, when a drone targeted a car of the leader of Al-Qaeda, Hassan al-Hadrami, killing him and 2 of his companions.

Abdullah bin Aboud al-Sharif, the son of the head of the Islah branch in Marib, attacked the American raid, claiming that the raid was carried out without regard for the lives of hundreds who were present near the place of the raid.

The terrorist organization had previously issued many obituary statements for the its emirs who were killed in Marib, which of statements issued on October 11, 2021, regarding the killing of the emir of the terrorist organization, “Yasser Lakab Al-Omari,” one of the leaders of the 156th Brigade of the coalition forces, by Sanaa forces in the battles that took place. “Bani Abd” area in Al-Abdiyah district of Marib.
