6 magnitude earthquake strikes 3 provinces of Egypt

SANAA, Jan. 25 (YPA) – An earthquake measuring six degrees on the Richter scale struck on Wednesday three provinces of the Egyptian Arabic Republic, including the capital, Cairo.

According to Egyptian media, this came in a statement issued by the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research (governmental) on its Facebook Page.

“The stations of the national earthquake network affiliated with the institute recorded a six-magnitude earthquake in the eastern Mediterranean, 502 km from the Egyptian coast, at a depth of 54 km,” The statement said.

The statement added, “The earthquake was felt by a number of citizens within Cairo without any losses or injuries.”
