Circular to arrest donkeys in Aden sparks widespread ridicule

ADEN, Jan. 25 (YPA) – A circular published by the Ministry of Works in the government loyal to Saudi-led coalition based in Aden has sparked widespread ridicule on social media platforms.

Activists circulated a picture of the circular issued by the director of the Works Office in Sira, Khaled Ali Al-Awlaki, a notice to the owners of “donkeys and animals”, banning the movement of donkeys in public streets and vents.

The circular threatened to confiscate donkeys, detain their owners and pay a fine.

The trade of donkeys imported from Dhalea and Lahj has revived, in contrast to the spread of Emirati armored cars during the past years among the people of the city of Aden, so that donkeys have become a distinctive sign of searching for water in all residential neighborhoods, after the coalition brought the city to the brink of collapse  and lack of  all basic services such as electricity, water, health and security chaos.
