Sanaa threatens to take historic decision to confront arbitrary measures of UNVIM

SANAA, Jan. 25 (YPA) – Yemen’s Deputy Foreign Minister in the National Salvation Government, Hussein Al-Ezzi, revealed Sanaa’s intention to take a decisive decision to confront the arbitrary measures practiced by the United Nations regarding the inspection of ships arriving at the port of Hodeida in the event that these measures are not reversed.

“It is very likely that Sanaa would take a major historic decision if “the increasingly arbitrary measures by the UN Verification and Inspection Mechanism (UNVIM) were not corrected,” Hussein Al-Ezzi tweeted on Tuesday.

He noted that the mechanism has become a violation of its establishment decision and for the purpose for which it was established.

“The UNVIM has been established to facilitate the unimpeded flow of commercial goods and services to Yemen, while ensuring compliance with the arms embargo established pursuant to Security Council resolution 2216 (2015),” according to the UN.

But the mechanism has turned into a tool used by the Saudi-led coalition and its sponsors to tighten the noose on the Yemeni people by preventing and delaying the arrival of goods and commodities to the port of Hodeida.
