YCLU denounces America, Britain statements on Yemen

SANAA, Jan. 23 (YPA) – The Yemeni Confederation of Labor Unions (YCLU) denounced on Sunday the statements of America and Britain, which include condemnation of the right of the Yemeni people to defend their sovereignty and independence and protect its wealth.

In a statement, the Union confirmed that US President Joe Biden’s talk about the Yemeni armed forces’ attack against the UAE state about a year ago reflects the ugliness of American politics and its lack of credibility, which clearly reveal the American and British role obstructing peace in Yemen.

The statement pointed out that the UAE’s security and safety to be achieved by encouraging it to peace and ending its military presence and partnership in the aggression against Yemen.
The Union reaffirmed Yemen’s right to defend its waters, lands and wealth and to confront any hostile acts from any side.

It condemned also the British and American intervention in the Yemeni affairs and their standing behind the escalation of the economic war carried out by their tools, the latest of which was raising the price of the customs dollar, imposing an additional tax on sales, which are exacerbating the living burdens on citizens.

The statement indicated that the remarks of the US President and the British Ambassador revealed the criminal role played by Britain and America in doubling the suffering of the Yemenis, which prove their standing behind the economic war, including the policies of siege and starvation.
