Sanaa government spokesman: Burning copies of the Holy Quran is a crime against Muslims

SANAA, Jan. 22 (YPA) – Spokesman for the National Salvation Government, Minister of Information, Dhaifallah al-Shami, strongly condemned the burning of a copy of the Quran, Islam’s holy book, by a Swedish-Danish right-wing extremist in front of the Turkish embassy in the Swedish capital Stockholm.

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Sanaa government spokesman said “ it  is a shameful act and a provocative crime to the feelings of Muslims in the world, and at the same time expresses the extent of hatred and criminality that the enemies of the nation have against Islam and Muslims.

He pointed out that the continuation of the enemies of the nation in burning copies of the Holy Quran reflects their satanic efforts to fight the teachings, values, morals and behaviors brought by the Holy Quran, which falsehood does not come from its hands or from behind it.

Al-Shami called on the peoples of the Islamic Ummah, scholars and governments to take angry positions against the crime of burning copies of the Holy Quran, which provokes the feelings of Muslims.

The government spokesman called on the authorities of Sweden and Denmark to punish the criminals and take deterrent measures against those who incite against Islam and Muslims and apologize to the Islamic Ummah for the crimes of burning copies of the Holy Quran.
