WORLD, Jan. 12 (YPA) – US Secretary of the Navy Carlos del Toro said that the continuation of the military conflict in Ukraine for six to 12 months will threaten supply chains in the US military-industrial complex.
“If the conflict continues for six months to a year, it will definitely have a threatening effect on the supply chain,” he said in a tweet.
Del Toro added that arms manufacturers need to increase their labor investment and make capital investments to increase the production of the military-industrial complex.
“When that happens, it will be better. How long it takes depends on the particular weapon system.”
American journalist Marcus Weisberger tweeted that although the bulk of American weapons given to Ukraine are land weapons and not naval weapons, Del Toro’s concerns are shared by others.
“The US Secretary of the Navy hinted that the United States needs to choose between it and Ukraine during a panel discussion at the conference,” he wrote.
Russia has previously sent a memorandum to NATO countries because of the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov indicated that any shipment containing weapons to Ukraine would become a legitimate target of the Russian army.
