RIYADH, Jan. 09 (YPA) – Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah announced that there are no restrictions on the number of pilgrims coming for this year’s Hajj season.
“The number of pilgrims will return to what it was before the pandemic, without any age limit,” Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq al-Rabiah told reporters in Riyadh.
He pointed out that the value of medical insurance for pilgrims will be reduced by 73% and Umrah performers by 63%.
Al-Rabiah confirmed the return of Hajj this year without restrictions or conditions.
He noted that Hajj missions will be allowed to contract with any licensed company in order to enhance competitiveness.
Saudi Arabia had allowed a limited number of its residents to perform rituals for two consecutive years to curb the spread of the Corona virus, after requiring that pilgrims be between 18 and 65 years old, and that applicants should not be chronically ill.
Last year, Saudi Arabia announced that one million Muslims would be allowed to perform the Hajj in 2022 from inside and outside the Kingdom, in a noticeable increase after two years of the Corona epidemic.
