More than 400 dead, injured in US shootings since beginning of 2023

WORLD, Jan. 04 (YPA) – More than 100 people were killed and more than 300 injured in shootings in the United States in the early days of 2023, according to a US report on gun violence.

According to the portal, which compiles statistics on gun use incidents, since the beginning of the year, 131 people have been killed accidentally or deliberately in the United States, and 313 people have been injured.

At the same time, the report noted that among the dead were two children and 11 teenagers, and among the injured were 34 teenagers and three children.

Since the beginning of the year, the portal has counted six incidents of mass shootings.

In a related context, the research organization “Gun Violence Archive” in the United States reported that shootings in 2022 claimed the lives of more than 43.6 thousand people, and more than 37.9 thousand people were injured.
