UAE militias kidnap woman hostage in Lahj

LAHJ, Dec. 27 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias held on Tuesday a woman hostage after breaking into a house in Lahj province, south of Yemen.

Local sources affirmed that several members of the STC militia arrested the woman to pressure her husband to be surrendered.

The sources said the militias stormed the house of a man named “Abdullah Abdul Latif Al-Yamani” Tuban district, the center of the province, on the suspicion of her husband’s involvement in an attempt to assassinate the director of security forces of the province, Saleh Al-Sayed.

On July 7, the STC militia had previously kidnapped an elderly woman, which prompted many Abyan tribes to cut off the main road linking Abyan and Shabwa.
