Militants injured in infighting among UAE militias in Shabwa

SHABWA, Dec. 24 (YPA) – About three militants were injured on Saturday in infighting among the armed factions backed by the UAE in Shabwa province.

Tribal sources said that violent clashes broke out between supporters of the Southern Transitional Council, led by the leader, “Aseel bin Rashid,” the deputy commander of the so-called joint forces, and the recruits of the “Shabwa Defense Forces”, in Al-Rawdah district, east of the city of Ataq.

The sources pointed out that the clashes erupted after a military vehicle belonging to the “Shabwa Defense Forces” militia refused to stop for inspection and passed a security point.

Shabwa is witnessing tension and mutual military mobilization by the Islah and STC loyal to the coalition.
