Russian ambassador in Washington: Zelensky’s visit to the US showed that Kiev and Washington do not want peace

WORLD, Dec. 22 (YPA) – Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly, said that Volodymyr Zelensky’s to the United States shows that neither he nor American leaders want peace, and that they are not ready to bring it about.

Antonov added in a statement: “Zelensky’s visit here and the talks in Washington showed that neither the administration nor Zelensky are ready for peace.”

He stressed that Kiev and the United States aimed to perpetuate the conflict, kill soldiers and “further link the long-standing Ukrainian regime to Washington’s needs.”

“The propositions that appear in the US media that Russia is not interested in achieving peace are wrong,” Antonov said, adding that the Russian president had repeatedly expressed Moscow’s position.

White House officials confirmed that Zelensky will visit Washington on Wednesday for his first visit outside Ukraine since the start of Russia’s special military operation.
