WORLAD, Dec. 18 (YPA) – Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said that “the United States is guided by the constant desire to prove itself in its relations with Russia as if the ghosts of the Cold War still roam the corridors of Washington.”
Speaking to Newsweek, Antonov wondered why Washington is seeking to establish a zone of instability near the Russian border?, expressing his belief that there is a “gene of exclusivity” running in the blood of the United States.
Many US politicians still think and act according to the laws of the Cold War, and Moscow’s restoration of prestige has become a nuisance for Washington.
Antonov said that there is a long way to go to build a multipolar world, and in the midst of this transformation the Russian-American rivalry will not stop overnight, stressing that this rivalry in any case must be based on mutual respect.
