Egypt imposes new fees on all nationalities including Yemenis

SANAA, June 28 (YPA) – Egyptian authorities decided to impose monthly fees on foreigner residents in Egypt from the beginning of July.

The proposals and complaints committee in the Egyptian parliament announced the approval of the law proposal, under which fees will be levied on the foreigner residing in Egypt, including Yemenis and Syrians, starts at 200 pounds and rises every year until it reaches 500 pounds per month in 2021.

According to media outlets, the Egyptian authorities started to imitate the Saudi experience in tightening foreigners inside its territory, especially the Arabs.

Egypt tries to compensate for the repeated setbacks that hit its national economy, through imposing fees on the foreigner residents inside the country.

According to student sources in Cairo, the monthly fees will be levied only on residents who are engaged in works inside Egypt, and will exclude students and patients.
