Health Minister calls for training, qualification revolution in hospitals

SANAA, Dec. 13 (YPA) – Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel, on Tuesday called on private and public hospitals to carry out a training and qualification revolution for all medical and health cadres, with the aim of upgrading and improving health services.

This came during the consultative meeting held in Sanaa to enhance the training of medical personnel, organized by the Ministry of Health with the participation of directors of health offices in provinces, representatives of private hospitals and the Federation of Private Hospitals.

The Health Minister stressed the need to train cadres on devices, how to calibrate them, perform periodic maintenance and continuously update information, so that the citizen feels that hospitals deal with him as a human being and avoid medical errors.

He warned hospitals that are not committed to training, qualification, equipment maintenance and calibration, especially in vital units such as intensive care departments, operations, incubators, blood banks, and others, noting that legal measures would be taken against violators and work permits withdrawn.

The Minister of Health also confirmed that the focus would be on the performance of hospitals regarding medical errors and how to deal with the patient. He stressed the importance of adhering to professional ethics and providing health care services to citizens by focusing more on the human aspect of medical work.
