Meteorologists warn against cold wave sweeping Yemen

SANAA, Nov. 30 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology expected very cold weather sweeping across Yemeni provinces.

In its weather bulletin, the center indicated on Wednesday that a cold wave would hit will be cold in the heights of the provinces of Shabwa, Abyan, Lahj, Dhalea, Ibb, Marib and Jawf, in addition to Mahweet, Raymah and Taiz.

The center stated that active to strong winds, with speeds ranging from 12 to 24 knots, with gusts of up to 34 knots, might blow on the south of the western coast, the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, and the western Gulf of Aden.

It warned citizens, especially the elderly, children, patients and workers during the night and early morning, to take the necessary precautions to prevent severe cold weather.
