WORLD, Nov. 27 (YPA) – At least seven people have been killed in two separate attacks by militants in northern and northeastern Burkina Faso, Agence France-Presse reported.
The troops were killed on Friday when an improvised explosive device went off as an army escort drove along the Bourzanga-Kongoussi road, a security source told Agence France-Presse.
The security source said armed men attacked the northeastern town of Falangoutou on Friday, killing three civilians.
Since 2015, Burkina Faso has been witnessing repeated attacks by takfiri groups that have left thousands dead and wounded and displaced nearly 2 million people from their homes.
