Human rights org reveals statistic on child victims since start of Yemen war

SANAA, Nov.19 (YPA) – The Entesaf Organization for Women and Child Rights in Sanaa on Saturday revealed a statistic of child victims in Yemen since the start of the Saudi-led coalition war on the country on March 26, 2015.

In a report issued today, the organization confirmed that 3,860 children have been killed and 4,256 wounded since the beginning of the war.

The report indicated that nearly 6,000 civilians have been disabled as a result of the armed hostilities of the coalition since the start of the war, including 5,559 children.

More than two million 2.4 million children at least are still out of school, out of about 10.6 million children of school age, according to the report.

The report also revealed that the blockade imposed by the coalition on Yemen has led to an increase in malnutrition rates, indicating that more than 2.3 million children under the age of five have been registered suffering from malnutrition, while 632,000 children in Yemen suffer from severe acute malnutrition that threatens their lives during the current year.
