Sanaa, UNICEF discuss cooperation in field of water, environmental sanitation

SANAA, Nov. 16 (YPA) – Minister of Water and Environment, Abdulraqib Al-Shurmani, discussed on Wednesday in Sanaa with UNICEF’s resident representative for Yemen, Peter Hawkins, aspects of cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Water and Environment and UNICEF.

In the meeting, the Minister of Water and Environment touched on the difficulties and obstacles facing the ministry due to the continuation of the aggression and the blockade imposed by the Saudi-led aggression coalition, expressing his aspiration to expand cooperation and coordination between the Ministry and the UNICEF.

For his part, the UNICEF Resident Representative affirmed the organization’s keenness to enhance cooperation with the Ministry of Water and Environment and support its efforts to expand water and sanitation services and projects.

The meeting, which included the former UNICEF representative in Yemen, Philippe Duhamel, touched on the existing partnership between the Ministry and UNICEF in implementing water and sanitation projects to alleviate the suffering of citizens under the aggression and siege.
