HR ministry: UN, Int’l community’s silence over Saudi war crime on Hodeidah displaced civilians shows their loss of human values
SANAA, June 27 (YPA) – The Ministry of Human Rights on Wednesday condemned the terrible crime committed by the warplanes of the US-backed Saudi-led coalition on a bus carrying displaced people in the province of Hodeidah, killing nine and wounding 11 civilians.
The ministry said in a statement received by Saba News agency that this cowardly criminal act shows the loss of the international community and the countries of the coalition’s all human values and ethics.
The Tuesday’s massacre was one of the most major war crimes, threatening international peace and security and impeding the objectives of a political solution, read the statement.
The statement said that this brutal crime comes a day after the coalition killed a family of nine and injured 20 others in Amran city.
The Ministry of Human Rights called on the United Nations and the Security Council to quickly implement the international rules against threats which undermined international peace and security and to end all forms of aggression war and the systematic siege on Yemen and its people.
The ministry stressed on the need for the international community to speed up the formation of an independent and impartial international commission to investigate into such war crimes in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the United Nations and international conventions on human rights and international humanitarian law.
