Civilian killed, 2 others wounded in Shabwa attack

SAHBWA, Nov. 13 (YPA) – A civilian was killed and 2 others were injured in a shooting at one of buffets in the center of Ataq city, the provincial capital of Shabwa.

Local sources affirmed that an attack launched by the gunmen belonging to Dhalea area, killing the worker and injuring the two others, because the accountant refused to give them lunch for free.

The sources indicated that the citizens tried to rescue the worker, but he died on the spot, while the gunmen managed to escape to the Emirates camp, amid refusal to extradite the accused, and great popular anger against the UAE-backed authorities in Shabwa.

On the other hand, gunmen kidnapped a secondary school student in Al-Rawda district of the same province.

Some sources affirmed that members of the so-called UAE-backed Shabwa Defense militia kidnapped the student, Hamir Salem Bahker, while he was returning from Jassar the school in the district, and took him to an unknown destination, a day after a citizen disappeared under mysterious circumstances.

The armed elements opened fire to disperse the citizens who were present at the scene of the incident to prevent the kidnapping of the student without revealing ambiguous circumstances.
