SANAA, Nov. 01 (YPA) – Iran’s Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) revealed on Thursday that Tehran has developed a hypersonic ballistic missile for the first time targeting anti-missile defence systems.
Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh , IRGC-ASF commander, announced that his country has managed to manufacture a hypersonic ballistic missile to counter air defense systems.
Fars news agency quoted Admiral Amir Ali Hajizadeh as saying that this new missile could penetrate all missile defense systems, challenging that “the technology is found capable of confronting it for decades to come.”
He continued, “This missile targets the enemy’s anti-missile systems and is a great generational leap in the field of missiles.”
Iran already has one of the largest arsenals of ballistic missiles in the Middle East, and has also managed to develop its ability to launch satellites.
