BRUSSELS, Oct. 29 (YPA) – The European Union announced on Saturday new moves regarding the political settlement in Yemen, in cooperation with the UN envoy, Hans Grundberg.
The EU Mission in Yemen said on Twitter that the EU Ambassador to Yemen Gabriel Munuera Viñals hosted a meeting of the working group that is currently visiting Amman and of the European Union with the UN envoy.
“The discussion focused on efforts to renew the armistice and restore the path of a political settlement,” the mission added.
The proposal to extend the armistice was met with the intransigence of the coalition and its refusal to agree to the most prominent humanitarian demands put forward by the Sanaa government related to the payment of salaries to all employees and retirees, and the entry of oil and food ships to the port of Hodeida not to be obstructed, as well as opening the most prominent roads in Taiz and Marib.
