SHABWA, Oct. 27 (YPA) – Masila Petroleum Exploration and Production Company (PetroMasila ) announced that exploration and production of oil in its oil fields suspended in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen.
The company said in a statement that it had halted exploration operations in the Jannah field in Osaylan district, as well as oil production and pumping operations through the pipeline linking to the Naqaa reservoirs.
The statement confirmed that production had stopped in the Jannah field, which was controlled by the American Hunt Company, due to the fullness of the tanks in Al-Nashima port, which were supposed to be emptied last week.
This came after warnings launched by Sanaa government calling on foreign companies to stop looting and tampering with the oil wealth of the eastern provinces of Yemen.
In the past two days, Petromasila Company has suspended export operations from its oil fields in Hadramout, for the same reasons.
The French company, Total, announced the suspension of exports from the Balhaf gas facility in Shabwa, following the Sanaa warnings to foreign companies looting Yemeni wealth.
