Interior Ministry reveals new details on assassination of Sheikh Abu Holiqa in Ibb

SANAA, Oct. 26 (YPA) – The official spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Abdulkhaleq Al-Ajri, on Tuesday confirmed the arrest of Mounir Abduljalil Ahmed Al-Zumar, who is accused of killing Sheikh Fayez Muhammad Fayez Abu Holiqa in Ibb province.

Al-Ajri explained that Mounir al-Zumar was accused of shooting the victim with an automatic machinegun in the chest and face, which led to his death.

The spokesman indicated that the police of Hobeish district in Ibb, in cooperation with Bayda province’s police, were able to arrest the accused and bring him to justice.

He pointed out that investigations are still ongoing to find out the reasons for the perpetration of this heinous crime.
