Russia denies reports talking for buying drones from Iran

SANAA, Oct. 18 (YPA) – Russia denied on Tuesday media reports talking about buying the Iranian-made drones to use the war against Ukraine.

“We have no information about Russia’s purchase of drones from Iran,” Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, told in a news statement.

“Russian equipment, as you know about it, is used under Russian names,” he added.

Earlier, the European Union’s foreign policy coordinator, Josep Borrell, had revealed the organization would investigate the data on Russia’s supply of Iranian drones.

Last Saturday, Iran confirmed that it has not and will not provide weapons to any party for use in Ukraine, during a phone call between Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and Portuguese Foreign Minister João Gomes Cravinho.
