TEHRAN, OCt. 18 (YPA) – Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard [IRG] Major General Hossein Salami warned Saudi Arabia about the price the kingdom will have to pay for sponsoring anti-Iranian media outlets.
“Saudis are trying to provoke the Iranian youth. And we advised them to control the regime affiliated media, otherwise, the consequences will not be avoidable for the regime, ” Major General Salami said on the sidelines of a military exercise in northwest of Iran on Monday.
“You are involved in this matter and know that you are vulnerable, it is better to be careful,” the IRGC commander stressed .
He urged Riyadh to mind its manners and rein in the anti-Iranian media outlets, warning that the consequences of Saudi Arabia’s actions will reflect upon itself.
Saudi Arabia and Iran have been conducting Iraqi-mediated negotiations for months to ease their dispute, and the two sides have held several rounds in this regard in the capital Baghdad.
Iran accuses Saudi Arabia of funding the Persian-language channel Iran International and conducts extensive coverage of Iranian affairs and protests, while Tehran calls it a “source of strife” and “street pitfall” against the regime.
