STC arrests several activists in Socotra

SOCOTRA, Oct.13 (YPA) – Militias of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) arrested on Thursday a number of activists and media professionals in Socotra province.

Local sources said that the militias raided a concert in Hadibo city during their participation in an event commemorating the revolutions of September 26 and October 14.

The sources pointed out that elements, led by Hadibo Police Director Mohammed Al-Diksmi, arrested a number of participants in the event, including tribal sheikhs, activists, media professionals and citizens, on the background of raising the Yemeni flag.

The STC militia had taken control of the island on June 19, 2020, and plunged it into many crises and campaigns of repression, and the citizens were subjected to economic woes, including high food prices and oil crises.
