SHABWA, Oct. 04 (YPA) – About two militants were killed and 5 others wounded on Tuesday when an explosive device exploded in their military vehicle in Shabwa province.
Local sources affirmed that the explosive device, which was planted by unidentified gunmen, targeted the military vehicle of the “37th Brigade” in the “First Military Region” on Al-Abr road of the province.
The military vehicle was targeted while securing oil tankers heading from Al-Khasha in Hadramout province on their way to Al-Uqla area in Jardan, Shabwa, on Al-Abr-Shabwa road.
The sources accused members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia of being behind the bombing, for their refusal to transfer oil from Shabwa to the rest of the provinces.
A statement issued by Ministry of Interior in the coalition-backed government, which is affiliated with Islah, vowed to pursue those elements, which it described as terrorist.
