Islah gives Saudi Arabia two days to release military commander Hantaf

MARIB, Oct. 04 (YPA) – The Islah party (the Yemeni branch of the Muslim Brotherhood), has given defense ministry of Saudi-led coalition-backed goverment  two days to release a military commander held by Saudi intelligence since early last month.

Sources said that commanders in the sixth military region affiliated with Islah party, led by Mohammed bin Rasiya, met with Sagheer bin Aziz, the Chief of Staff in the ministry and gave him two days to release the commander of the region, Heikal Hantaf, who is detained in Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting the commanders of the “sixth military” vowed to escalate by all available means if their demand, which is the release of Hantaf was not implemented.

According to the sources, the Saudi intelligence forces that arrested Hantaf on September 8, after intercepting his plane bound for Cairo, after taking off from Seiyun.

They detained him and confiscated his passport in connection with an investigation over the fall down  of the strategic Al-Yatama front  Jawf province to Sana’a forces in the  last year.
