North Korea fires missiles towards Sea of Japan

WORLD, Oct. 01 (YPA) – North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles toward the sea off the east coast on Saturday, South Korea’s military said, marking Pyongyang’s fourth launch in a week.

South Korea said it had spotted for the third day in a row launch of missiles towards the Sea of Japan, by the northern neighbor.

South Korea’s military said North Korea “fired an unknown ballistic missile towards the East Sea on Saturday.”

South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff noted the launch of missiles had been monitored on Sunday, Wednesday and Thursdays, without providing further details.

The day before, South Korea, the United States and Japan had staged trilateral anti-submarine exercises in the East Sea (Sea of Japan).
