Meteorology expects thunderstorms of varying intensity within coming hours

SANAA, Sept. 18 (YAP) – The National Center of Meteorology is expected thunderstorms of varying intensity in some Yemeni provinces during the coming 24 hours.

The center reported in its weather bulletin on Sunday that the scattered showers would fall on parts of the provinces of Lahj, Taiz, Ibb, Dhalea, Raymah, Mahweet and Hajjah, Bayda, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout, Sanaa, Dhamar, Amran, and Saada.

It affirmed that the winds would be active to severe, reaching a maximum speed of 40 knots on the Socotra archipelago and working to disturb the sea and high waves.

The center warned citizens in areas where rain expected from torrential flows in water ways and valleys, and motorists of low visibility on mountainous roads due to formatting low clouds.
