Citizen survives assassination attempt in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, Sept. 15 (YPA) – A citizen has survived an assassination attempt on Wednesday in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen, sources reported.

Human rights sources in the province affirmed, unknown gunmen fired at the engineer Ali Hassan Balfas while he was in front of his house near the city of Seiyun.
He miraculously survived the attack, as a gunshot penetrated the windshield of his car, shattering the windshield of the car unharmed.

The sources attributed the assassination attempt on Engineer Belfez due to his constant criticism of local authorities on corruption in Qat tax revenues, fuel price differentials, and the continued failure of the hygiene fund.
